Sydney Kurland
Sydney is an NYC-based writer, performer, and fan of sunny days and long car rides. She proudly hails from Los Angeles, California where she was lucky enough to regularly experience the last two items on that list. Sydney is a resident company member of the Brooklyn-based neurodiverse theatre company, EPIC Players with whom she performs often.
Sydney's writing credits include: Somebody In Bumf*ck, Montana Loves Me (Production: Subversive Theatricals; Finalist, 2024 Goldberg Play), On The J Train: A Short Musical (Book Writer, Music by Ben Boecker, Lyrics by M.D. Schaffer; Staged Reading, New York Public Library for The Performing Arts), In The Time It Took To Complete A Half-Assed Attempt At A Calc Worksheet (Production, Broke People Play Festival; Current Finalist, Spectrum Theatre Ensemble 2025 Play Festival), and The "Academy" (TV Pilot, Semi-Finalist: 2022 Humanitas Prize Carol Mendelsohn College Drama Award). Sydney is a graduate of NYU Tisch School of The Arts and holds a BFA in Dramatic Writing with a concentration in playwriting. In her free time, Sydney enjoys listening to NPR, doing crossword puzzles, and playing pop songs on her guitar.
